Your Bio

All of the images on this site were taken by myself (Linda Hines) and are my sole, copyrighted property. Please feel free to view and share links to my galleries. I welcome and encourage you to purchase prints of my images. You may order directly from this site or contact me directly at Lhinesphoto@gmail.com to inquire about digital copies, etc.

What about me?

I’m all about the hidden world; those minute pieces of an object whether it’s a rock, plant, insect, animal, or the effects of time on an object. Macro photography allows me to show my viewers the less-obvious aspects of a particular subject. My ultimate goal is to have my images invoke a feeling of awe and wonder in the viewer.

Many subjects in the macro world are well-hidden and require a love of the hunt to find them. They also require substantial patience to portray them in the manner I hope to achieve. I enjoy the discovery process almost as much as the photography.

Macro photography evolved from my love of nature and being outdoors. Landscape photography didn’t hold much appeal so rather than looking at the big picture I started looking at the ground beneath my feet, under rocks, in trees, any place that wasn’t obvious to the causal viewer. My passion for macro photography was soon discovered.

This is not to say I don't enjoy other types of photography; I do. I love photographing wildlife and landscapes. Macro is just my favorite subject.
